NYPL Dynamic Duos: The Art of Working in Pairs
We were surprised—and genuinely honored—to find Good Morning included in Dynamic Duos: The Art of Working in Pairs, an exhibition at The New York Public Library that explores four centuries of artistic collaboration. Curated by Madeleine Viljoen, the show gathers prints, photographs, and illustrated books that highlight the creative possibilities of working in tandem.
The exhibition features legendary partnerships like Gilbert & George’s living artworks, Bernd and Hilla Becher’s photographic typologies, Jenny Holzer and Virgil Abloh’s sharp-edged conceptual pieces, and Eva & Adele’s performative presence. Our names don’t quite belong in that company—but we’re grateful to be there.
The curators selected our project, Good Morning, which reframes sentimental WhatsApp messages shared between family members, layered with florid typography and devotional design. Like most of our work, it came out of conversation, improvisation, and back-and-forth—a way of making that feels more like a dialogue than a production process.
We don’t consider our work particularly relevant to historical narratives, but Dynamic Duos reminds us that relevance isn’t always the point. Collaboration itself can be the statement. We're thankful to be part of this ongoing story.
This exhibition is organized by The New York Public Library and curated by Madeleine Viljoen, Curator of the Print Collection and the Spencer Collection.
