Desert Press heavyweight T-shirt featuring textured typography inspired by rock surfaces, from the project’s risograph publication. Hand-pulled in the Water With Water studio by Ayatalla Mohamed and Nathan Ross Davis this two-color screen printed graphic is printed on a 100% cotton, made-in-USA heavyweight shirt.
Desert Press explores the shift from geologic process to graphic process through collecting, photographing, scanning, drawing, and printing fragments gathered from the desert (mostly rocks we carried around in tote bags for too long). Moving through cycles of rescanning, redrawing, reprinting, and rephotographing, the images slowly transform into temporary archives shaped by repetition, texture, dust, and print artifacts.

Commissioned by MDLBEAST Foundation for XP Music Futures, this publication brings together artists from Bahrain, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. Developed in collaboration with the visionary and passionate Jood Al Kibsy, Ahmed Khalaf, and Heba Zaidan, the project reflects the energy of the Gulf’s vibrant and emerging regional music scene. Thank you to the Xine dream team for trusting us, and supporting the project all the way from the beginning. If you haven’t been to XP Music Futures yet… you should go!
Good Morning Extra extends the Good Morning project with a new selection of WhatsApp messages—more blessings, more gradients, more typographic optimism. This volume leans into excess: amplified sentiment, layered visuals, and a lenticular cover that literalizes the shifting, animated nature of digital goodwill.
Still rooted in everyday exchanges between family and friends, Good Morning Extra treats these familiar messages not as background noise, but as cultural artifacts—designed, circulated, and felt.
Designed by Sarah Elawad with Nathan Ross Davis.

Dream State
In 2023, a severe health crisis nearly ended Kadhmia’s life. During her recovery, she drifted between consciousness and another state, where she mysteriously communicated with a friend who was also close to death. Despite being continents apart, they found each other in the Dream State and shared their journey to the brink of the afterlife—one continued to the afterlife, and the other returned to our world. As Kadhmia recovered, she continued to experience a blur between the living world and the Dream State, lamenting that she had not accompanied her friend in her journey. This publication collects fragments of her conversations with her daughter Maysaa about this true experience in a Dream State.
Special thanks to Kadhmia Almumin, the inspiration for this publication, and to Maysaa Almumin for generously sharing her mother’s stories.

I Slept and Dreamt Life Is Beauty is a collection of fragments from a large-scale artwork by Sarah and Nathan created for the "Watering the Desert | Contemporary Art from Qatar" exhibition at the Yuz Museum in Shanghai in 2023. The project was chaotic and beautiful—hundreds of layers, countless versions, and loads of back-and-forth to produce a large-scale mural for the exhibition. It was a mix of dreams, mistakes, and surprises. This publication captures the energy of that graphic experimentation in a convenient take-home size.

We were invited to give a workshop as part of the public programming for the Virgil Abloh Figures of Speech exhibition. The workshop aimed to consider the exhibition’s highlights and include critical aspects of Virgil’s design philosophy, resulting in a printed publication. We decided to use the workshop to co-create assets for a new zine. We collaborated with Sara Shaaban on the workshop and zine the first time we worked directly with her, though she has contributed significantly to many of our projects in the past. The assets generated during the workshop form the basis of this three-color glow-in-the-dark screen-printed zine.

Sarah and Nathan were in Den Haag for The Other Book Fair and decided to print a project hanging around on the hard drive for a while. They managed to get a full-day session scheduled at AGA Lab in Amsterdam. After 16 hours of non-stop printing and 380 pulls, they completed a four-color split fountain, double-sided folded poster.
The visuals are based on the research work that they had done for the Fanoon Artist Residency at VCUarts Qatar.

This glow in the dark, 4 color screen printed zine is the outcome of months of research, discussion, and visual explorations. A design collaboration between Sara Al Afifi and Nathan Ross Davis, the zine presents an imaginative supernatural world inspired by aspects of pre-Islamic Arabian myths, artifacts, and texts. The script in this zine is based on Musnad script, which was used in pre-Islamic Arabia. The font, SF Old South Arabian, was designed by Sultan Maqtari.

This 24-page tabloid is a collection of some of our favorite packaging from the souqs around Doha. Collected over the course of a few months, with help from some of our friends, these packages are totally ordinary, and at the same time unforgettable. The packages are empty. We don’t want to show you what they contained, because sometimes the package is better than the thing inside.

The "path to virtue" means being good,
Doing things you know you should,
Make choices that are right and fair,
Be kind and show that you care.
It takes practice and time, you see,
But it's worth it to be happy and free,
So be nice to others and do your part,
And keep walking on the "path to virtue" with your heart!

A bilingual magic zine featuring English on one side and Arabic on the reverse. Based on a real cat with a habit of peeing on things he shouldn't, the story imagines Ginger Boy attempting to explain himself. Created as an attempt to find empathy where none seemed possible, the narrative drifts between apology, misunderstanding, and compound life in Doha. Despite everyone's best efforts, understanding remains elusive.
Designed by Nathan Ross Davis and printed by Hagar Allam.
